Why now?

German public universities have started accepting applications for English-taught Master's programmes for 2027. Summer-semester programmes (April 2027) accept applications until 15 January 2027; winter-semester programmes (October 2027) accept them between March and July 2027 through portals that open in December–January. English-taught programmes close earlier than German-taught ones and places are limited; the APS certificate, mandatory for applicants from Turkey, takes 4–8 weeks, so your file needs to be prepared this autumn.

FAQ

01Can I apply without speaking German?

Yes. English-taught Master's programmes do not require German for admission; lectures, exams and the thesis are in English. For everyday life and work we recommend German at A2–B1.

02Are there tuition fees?

Master's degrees at public universities are tuition-free; the semester contribution is €150–400. Exceptions are Baden-Württemberg (€1,500/semester) and TUM's fees for non-EU students.

03I'm in my final year – can I apply?

Yes. You apply with your current transcript; the degree certificate is required at enrolment. The APS application can also be made in your final year.

04Which English test do I need?

IELTS Academic 6.5 (6.0 / 7.0 for some programmes) or TOEFL iBT 88–95; Cambridge C1 is accepted. Some universities grant an exemption if your Bachelor's was taught in English.

05When do applications close?

For the summer semester (April 2027): 15 January 2027. For the winter semester (October 2027) portals open in December–January: RWTH 1 March, TUM 31 May, uni-assist 15 July.

06Is the consultancy service paid?

The initial consultation is free. The scope and fee of the application management service are given to you in writing at the consultation; we take no commission from universities or language schools.
